Sustainable Travel

Our team are determined to make travel more sustainable and every effort goes into ensuring that the trips we create have a positive impact on people and planet by supporting local communities and environmental conservation.

We are founding members of Tourism Declares Climate Emergency, and as part of this commitment, founded the world's first (and at the current time, only) carbon scoring and offsetting framework for tailor-made holidays.

Communicating with our clients to ensure they understand the importance of reducing the carbon output of their travel is a huge part of what we do, and we recommend carbon-friendly trips whenever we can. We also work with Ecologi to help remove carbon from the atmosphere by asking our clients to donate to the restoration of mangrove and sea grass habitats worldwide.

Ben, our Founder, is also Founder of The Flipflopi Project - a mission to end single-use plastics and the pollution they cause to our oceans. And we have worked closely with Tusk Trust, specifically on our own award-winning initiative Ride 4 Rangers, which raised over $500,000 in 2020 alone for African rangers whose livelihoods were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. We also work with Play it Forward Zambia and The Leo Project in Kenya to support the education and employability of local young people in those areas and send staff and clients to visit these projects and get involved on the ground.

Ultimately, we want these communities and ecosystems to benefit as much as they possibly can from our client's travel.
