London or The Lakes?

North or South? Country Life or City Living? We often argue amongst ourselves here at Far & Wild over who has it better - the London or Lake District office.

Have a look below and decide for yourself…

London

The office: Suburban city style

Right outside:

  • Richmond Park, London’s largest park, is perfect for running, picnics, or even Sumo competitions

  • Three great cafes, one art gallery, many shops, and some great pubs!

Within 1-3 kms:

  • Everything Central London has to offer – from the National Gallery and Buckingham Palace to the London Eye and St Paul’s Cathedral… all there on your doorstep

  • Clapham Junction mainline station – people commute to our office from Brighton

  • The Brixton Academy – one of the capital’s premier venues for live music

  • World-class sport at Twickenham, Chelsea, Fulham, Wimbledon or Queens

  • About 1500 shops, galleries, bars, restaurants, and pubs… a conservative estimate!

The Lake District

The office: A rural idyll

Comes with:

  • Safi, Bob & Roy - the friendly, lovable office dogs

  • A kitchen with a sofa and big wooden staff table carved into the shape of Africa!

  • Many, many maps (including an original map of Africa from 1766 which Ben is very proud of)

  • Harold Hyena

Within 5 kms:

  • River Eden for glorious lunchtime walks – perfect if you’re bringing your dog to work!

  • Market town of Penrith; gyms, pools, nurseries, schools, sports clubs

  • Penrith Train Station – Edinburgh in 1hr 30mins, London in 3hrs, Manchester in 1hr 30mins

Within 10 kms:

The Lake District National Park and all it has to offer; incredible scenic walks and hikes, wild swimming, paddle boarding, canoeing and kayaking, climbing, fell running, mountain biking, horse riding…

All that you could possibly want for a healthy active outdoor lifestyle, plus Michelin star cuisine at Askham Hall and countless country pubs.
